Lions Young Leaders in Service
What is the award?
Bronze Seal Award
For 12 months service of 25 – 49 hours
Silver Seal Award
For 12 months service of 50 – 99 hours
Gold Seal Award
For 12 months service of 100 hours or more
Who can take part
Young people between the ages of 11 and 18
How does it work
Each young person will be provided with a logbook in which to record their service activities.
The activities are grouped into 10 different categories.
All the hours can be from the same activity or from a variety of services
What activities might our Young Leaders be involved in
Charity work, including fundraising and “hands on” involvement
Youth work including the Guide/Scout movement, Youth Club, Church, Cadets, Duke of Edinburgh award
Environmental projects
Service to the young, the elderly, their family, neighbours, anyone in need
Helping their local Lions Club
Young Leaders could help the local Lions Club with fundraising and welfare activities

Young Leaders in Service Diary
Flexible timetable operating through the year
Start date: as soon as you get your logbook Finish: on the 1st anniversary of that date
At end of 12 months of service receive your certificate, letter of congratulations and badge
Presentation ceremony: a public event to present the awards and celebrate you, the youth in the area.
